Scottsdale Round Two

OH my heavens I miss it so much already….

This was our second trip to Scottsdale, and it was filled with the same sunshine, color, and relaxation as the last.

When we knew we were headed back to the Grand Canyon State, we also knew exactly where we wanted to go… back to our home away from home, The Phoenician.

We left early Thursday morning and arrived at The Phoenician right after breakfast.  If possible, it was more beautiful than I remembered. We headed straight the pool and our best vacay ever began.

THE POOLS

One of the beautiful parts of The Phoenician is that it backs right up to Camelback Mountain. Every morning over breakfast we were able to watch the sunrise reach over the mountain as Scottsdale woke up for the day. You are also able to see the mountains as you lay out at the pool soaking up the sun.

This is the view from The Phoenician Balcony looking out onto the Phoenician pools and all of Scottsdale.

Daily ritual of Scottsdale living, laying out by the pool and ordering fish tacos. AKA: the dream.

THE FOOD

The first night we went out to dinner at the J&G Steakhouse, located on the fifth floor of the Phoenician. Y’all. If you ever stay anywhere in the Phoenix area, you HAVE to go here. The view, the food, the music, the sunsets. We did not want our dinner to end.

On our first morning, we were fortunate enough to dine at Mowry and Cotton, one of the many restaurants the Phoenician has to offer, and we LOVED it. Mowry and Cotton was fresh, fun, modern, and sooooooo good.

We had to go back and get the smoothie bowls, #savvychoices.

We also got to have dinner on the another restaurant on property, the Tavern, an American restaurant located right next to the golf course so you can eat dinner with the palm trees.

SPA DAY

Wow, wow, wow. I’ve been trying to find the right words to actually describe the feelings of our experience at The Phoenician Spa and the words that come to mind are: timeless, light, gold, peaceful, tranquil, modern, elegant, creative, detailed and memorable.

I got the Signature Spa Scrub, Wrap and Massage….  and it took me until the next day to fully wake up from how relaxed I was after my treatment. The attention to detail, not just in the architecture and interiors, but to all the ingredients used in the treatments, was something that I had not experienced before. Also, Nate and I both decided that the Spa water was hands down the best water either of us had ever tasted.

Before your treatment, the Spa suggests you go through these body prep steps (hot tub, sauna, cold showers), which in itself fully relaxes you.

My mood after the massage: questioning if I was actually awake or still dreaming.

CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN

WE HAD TO GO BACK. YES, I almost low key passed out the last time we did this hike, but it was so beautiful we couldn’t resist.

Our Phoenician fam was so kind and dropped us off at the starting point, where we brought along a backpack (thankfully) filled with water and snacks. (If you plan on hiking Camelback, BRING WATER BRING WATER).

*Note that the “To Trail” sign points directly upwards….

Yes, the last fourth of the hike consisted of  bouldering (climbing on all fours) and asking Nate to carry me back down….. but holy shalaylay that view at the top was so worth it. Here are some of my favorite pics:

THE VIEWS

Wherever you look at the Phoenician, it all looks so warm, inviting, elegant, and picturesque. One of our favorite parts about the resort is how well it becomes one with the mountain behind it. From the ‘cactus garden’, the workout facility, the three pools, balcony dinners and bars, the views don’t stop.

Sharing a few of my favorite pics from the weekend below:

Moral of the post, we did not want to leave and we are counting down the days until we can return back to our home away from home, The Phoenician.

So much love,
